Summary:

The HR Coordinator assists the Human Resources Manager in providing comprehensive HR service to Managers and Employees by providing support and coordination in the consistent and effective application of policies, procedures, and practices of the Human Resources department.

Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:

Model the Spectrum Brands eight Core Capabilities to achieve service excellence, meet and exceed organizational objectives and support fiscal responsibility.
Create and maintain employee personnel files, file and retrieve documents as requested, ensure I-9 document and retention compliance; researc employee files as necessary.
Provide customer service to employee population on various issues and escalate to appropriate HR personnel or Shared Services group when necessary.
Track and administer time off, as well as maintain attendance points database.
Work with payroll department to ensure accuracy with weekly/semi-monthly payrolls (shift differentials, HRIS changes, colleague personal information changes, pay changes, etc.).
Prepare documents and complete data entry for employee changes, terminations, etc.
Administer employee programs such as perfect attendance, STEP increases, and anniversary gifts.
Handle communication and coordination for FMLA and STD with employees and payroll.
Assist with new employee hiring process and orientation.
Process general invoices related to human resources activities as requested.
Coordinate events and meetings.
Assist with interviewing candidates for internal job changes and administer LIST tests.
Mail received - forward invoices, tax documents, etc. to accounts payable or the appropriate personnel each week.
Update job descriptions as needed.
Responsible for maintaining petty cash and company store funds.
Maintain department office supply levels.
Respond to employment verification requests.
Other duties as assigned.

PC skills: ability to create and modify spreadsheets (Excel), proficiency in word processing (Word) and presentation development (PowerPoint).

Some knowledge of basic Human Resources laws and regulations.
Works well independently, yet is cooperative in working with team members.
Understands diversity and the importance of fostering an open and respectful work environment.
Willingness and ability to split time between two facilities.
Required Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, emphasis in Human Resource Management preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
0-2 years experience in a Human Resources environment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
