comPOSITION SUMMARY :
The Manufacturing Technology Engineer provides technical expertise for the design standards, process capabilities, scale-ups, hazard analysis, performance monitoring, technical training, and continuous improvements for a site or group of locations within the HNH business.
This position will plan, support, and where applicable, execute engineering deliverables for the site's production and packaging functions.
Essential Functions:
Provides technical leadership to enable new product or process development by collaborating with research and development, corporate engineering, and/ or technical groups from other locations to develop engineering packages to deliver the capabilities required.
Provides technical expertise to generate and track value by implementing improvements to existing processes and provide guidance for process safety evaluations.
Designs experiments with internal and external resources to reduce variation, validate process change, or evaluate a project's cost/ benefit.
Develops project scopes, justification, P&IDs, drawings, and control narratives to plan, support, and execute process improvements.
Authors and reviews documents including Preventive Maintenance plans, Standard Operating Procedures, Material Masters, and other forms.
Leads and provide direction for other operational and engineering resources assigned to projects and processes, including coaching, mentoring and knowledge development.
Keeps abreast of emerging manufacturing technology trends and developments and incorporates them into design requirements.
Works with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues/problems.
Responsible for technical support and improvement in the areas of material handling, ingredients preparation, receiving, CIP, and liquid & powder processing.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical or biosystems engineering or equivalent experience.
Relevant experience, minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environmentFood or pharmaceutical packaging a plusProficient computer skills (Word, Excel, ERP)Knowledge of PLC's a plusKnowledge of CAD a plusKnowledge of PI a plusKnowledge of food GMP's and hygienic design practices a plusSpecific knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM systems preferredClear sense of urgency and ability to manage priorities to meet immediate needs and long-term goalsAbility to manage time and workload efficiently, and the ability to prioritize and modify priorities accordinglyStrong safety orientationSelf-motivation and ability to work independentlyDemonstrated ability to work and develop others in a team environmentSensitive to other cultures/backgrounds, able to work in a multi-cultural workplaceDemonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced environment while moving multiple simultaneous projects forwardStrong verbal and written communication skills to discuss, develop, and implement plansHigh sensitivity to quality and on-time delivery of commitmentsAbility to develop othersWillingness to travel up to 15% of the timeWORKING CONDITIONS:
